Odds and Ends

Autumn in the park.

I am so sorry I haven’t written here in almost a month. I've had various boring health problems I don’t want to go into detail about. Plus, the laziness. I've been trying to organize this site a bit better. I have a few odds and ends I want to post, like the photo above, plus I want to take down some of the personal stuff. Here are a few of the odds and ends.

Landmark powerstation in my hood.

As of now all I have done is create a "tiny format" gallery, where I will be putting all my mini masterpieces. I usually have my phone with me, although I find it hard to get a decent photo out of it. You have to think about it much more than you would with a real camera, which has more options designed to help you out. There are only a few new ones in there right now, mixed in with some older stuff. Hopefully there will be more.

I went to Harrods and got some Libby's canned pumpkin so I could make some pumpkin pie this week. Today I finally got around to baking it. We have been eating it all day today. I made some Thanksgiving-esque dinner last week, but the whole traditional spread doesn't have the same appeal to me since moving to England, because the traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings is pretty much the same thing as a typical Sunday roast dinner here. No biggie. The Pilgrims were of course English, so this makes sense, its just strange when you are used to something being so much a part of your own culture, when really it is just a riff on some other countries culture. Kind of like the first time you hear an original song that has been covered or sampled in another song. Oh! duh. The one thing they don't have is pumpkin pie though. Hence me paying over £2 a can to Harrods for importing the stuff from my native land.

Views from the London Eye

The link above are photos I took when William's company had a outing at the London Eye, way back in July. Also a photo of my new (back in September) haircut (which by now has grown out completely), and a neighborhood cat.
